Real switch attention to Ronaldo

Real switch attention to Ronaldo

Real Madrid have set the sights on signing Cristiano Ronaldo despite the world-record capture of Kaka from AC Milan.

Real has a track record of attracting world-class talent to the club after bringing the likes of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham to the club during his first stint at the helm.

And the £59million arrival of Brazil star Kaka is understood to be just the start of his summer rebuilding with Ronaldo then next on Perez and Real's hit-list.

"We're always thinking about great players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic are among other great players around the world," Perez said on Sky Sports.

"We all know that these are players that we would like, but they all can't come.

"Ronaldo is a great player who we'd like to bring to the club, but first we have to speak to Manchester United because the important thing is for us to maintain a good rapport with everyone."

AC Milan confirmed the deal for Kaka , 27, on Monday night, before Madrid announced the transfer on their website.

"I can officially say I'm a Real Madrid player. My professional link with AC Milan finishes now, but my sentimental link will never end," said Kaka.

Kaka turned down the chance of a £100million move to Manchester City in January, but this time the offer for both himself and Miland was too good ro refuse.

Kaka added: ""Manchester City and Real Madrid are two different clubs with different situations. At that time (January), it was mid-season, I had a strong emotional impact due to the Italian fans requesting me to stay, and I decided to stay.

"Now another chance came up and AC Milan is in a big crisis (financially). For me, the sporting project (at Madrid) is interesting and will be an important boost to continue my career in the highest level."
