Sebastien Bassong to Spurs

Tottenham have been linked with a shock £8 million move for Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong. It is understood that the Toon are ready to sell the Frenchman as soon as possible.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also known to be very interested in the youngster, but Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has already made his interest in the player known this summer.

It is believed that AC Milan are also looking at the Frenchman, and any move for the player could be concluded before the end of June as Newcastle are keen to bring in money before Mike Ashley sells the club.
