Spurs to sign Vieira
Spurs to sign Vieira
Tottenham has initiated talks with Inter Milan to bring former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira to White Hart Lane. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is hopeful that Inter would waive the transfer fee and give him a pay-off to leave the club.
Patrick Vieira, now 33, would sign a one year contract with Spurs if Inter Milan would be kind enough to give a pay-off to the veteran midfielder. This would bridge the gap between £80,000 a week wage in San Siro and the offered £35,000 a week at White Hart Lane. Tottenham are also asking the Italian giants to drop the £750,000 transfer fee for the player.
Although Vieira is keen to make a return to the Premier League, the move may not be popular with the Spurs fans who will remember his spell at rivals Arsenal.
