Cole calls on West Ham to spend

West Ham striker Carlton Cole has asked his club to splash the cash in the January transfer window, or face the risk of relegation. The Hammers already find themselves in the relegation zone.

Avram Grant finds himself under mounting pressure at Upton Park, and some are suggesting that he must bring in new players if he wishes to survive.

"Do we need to buy more players? Yes, that's what we need to do now," said Cole. "We have a great team and we need to build on it with more great players.
