Aston Villa also eye Al-Habsi move

Aston Villa look set to beat Wigan in the race to sign Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi. It seems that Alex McLeish has agreed a £4 million fee with Bolton and now just needs to agree terms with the shot stopper.

Al-Habsi is regarded by many as one of the best up and coming shot stoppers in the Premiership, and sterling performances in recent months have seen several clubs declare their interest.

However as Alex McLeish travels far and wide to find a replacement for Brad Friedel, Al-Habsi is the first goalkeeper that he has successfully agreed terms with a club for.
