Chelsea considering move for Massimiliano Allegri?

Abramovich considering Allegri approach

According to Italian outlet Quotidano Sportivo, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich could make an approach for Massimiliano Allegri, should manager Frank Lampard fail to improve the club's performances.

Lampard took charge from Maurizio Sarri last summer and he had an impressive debut season with the Blues as they finished in the fourth spot without spending while losing their talisman in Eden Hazard.

He has since been backed in the transfer market with as many as six high-profile players costing £220m, but the club have yet to deliver the results on the playing field.

The west London giants have impressed in stages during the ongoing campaign, but that has not been sufficient as they have struggled to build a winning run together.

Quotidano Sportivo claims that Abramovich may not show loyalty towards Lampard for long, should the results fail to improve. It is added that Allegri is already being considered for the head coach position.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford this weekend. They head into the game on the back of draws against Southampton and Sevilla.
