Christian Tello leaves Barcelona for Porto
Barcelona have allowed promising Spain striker Cristian Tello to join Porto on a two-year loan deal.
'Barcelona and Porto have reached an agreement for the loan of Cristian Tello for the next two seasons with the option to buy for the Portuguese club,' the Catalan club said in a statement.
An European Under-21 champion with Spain in 2013, Tello slipped out of the first-team picture at the Nou Camp following the arrival of Neymar last summer, but did manage to score a hat-trick against Levante in the Copa del Rey.
He made only a handful of first team appearances last season and following the arrival of Luis Suarez from Liverpool, those chances were going to reduce even further.
The move comes as a blow to Everton manager Roberto Martinez who was eyeing a move for the the striker.
Barcelona missed out on the major trophies last season, finishing second in the Spanish League. The squad is undergoing extensive restructuring under new manager Luis Enrique.
So far in the transfer season, along with Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic and keepers Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo have been signed by the Catalan giants.
