Sunderland hope for second loan for Liverpool's striker Borini
Sunderland's best efforts to push through a permanent deal to sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini appear to have fallen through and subsequently the Black Cats are now attempting a loan move for the Italian forward.
Having enjoyed a season long loan at the Stadium of Light last campaign, Gus Poyet had hoped to bring the striker back to his club for the 2014/15 season. Borini enjoyed a successful spell at Sunderland last season, helping guarantee Premier League survival.
Despite Sunderland apparently agreeing a fee with Liverpool for the striker, it is understood Borini rejected a permanent move. Instead, the Italian would favour a loan switch as he still hopes to prove himself at Liverpool in the future.
Borini will discuss a possible loan move with Sunderland representatives this week.
