Wolfsburg eager to sign Mario Gomez
Wolfsburg are interested in luring Mario Gomez back to the Bundesliga in the summer. The German international has been on stunning form for Besiktas on loan from Fiorentina this season.
Gomez never really settled during his spell at La Viola and was subsequently shipped out to Besiktas on temporary basis last summer.
Since then, the German international has had a new lease of life netting an impressive tally of 26 goals in just 39 outings for the Istanbul side.
German outlet Kicker suggests that the Wolves will seek to sign the 30-year-old in a desperate attempt to revive their challenge for the league title next season.
Dieter Hecking's side are also looking into a deal for out-of-form Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
Despite reaching the Champions League quarter-finals, Wolfsburg have had an average run in the league and currently find themselves 10th with 39 points.
