Man Utd sack Louis van Gaal
Manchester United have reportedly axed Louis van Gaal from the managerial role. Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is likely to takeover the reigns at Old Trafford.
The writing was on the wall for Van Gaal after speculation evolved that Mourinho had penned a three-year contract before the club's FA Cup triumph over Crystal Palace.
According to BBC Sport, the 64-year-old has been relieved from his head coach duties earlier this morning, and he is now at the club's Carrington base discussing severance terms.
The news is likely to come as a major shocking point for the players who have seen their manager sacked within 48 hours of lifting the famous old trophy for a historic 12th time.
United are expected to make a formal announcement on Van Gaal's dismissal before appointing Mourinho as his successor on Tuesday.
