Barcelona have reportedly revived their interest in signing Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho despite the Brazilian having penned a long-term deal earlier in the year.

The 24-year-old inked a new five-year contract with the Reds in January after he was made the club's highest earner on reported wages of around £200,000-a-week.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has since turned down the potential exit of the playmaker in the summer, but according to Catalan outlet Sport, the Spanish champions are ready to lure the midfielder to Camp Nou.

It is added that the La Liga holders have already held talks with agent Giuliano Bertolucci as Coutinho is hopeful of a fresh challenge after four years in Merseyside.

Coutinho has played as a regular in the front three for Liverpool this campaign, and his potential exit could be dependent on Barca offloading one of their key players.

Barcelona are understood to have identified Coutinho as a potential long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta, who is approaching the latter years of his career.
