Roy Hodgson desperate to land Crystal Palace job
Former England manager Roy Hodgson has emerged as a candidate for the vacant Crystal Palace manager's position, as the experienced coach looks to prove that he still has what it takes to be successful, despite struggling in his last role with the Three Lions.
Hodgson, now 69, has been out of work since he left the England role following their Euro 2016 defeat to Iceland. The Sun reports today that Hodgson is desperate to land one last job in the game, with Crystal Palace the club that he is keen to join.
Crystal Palace are without a manager since another former England manager, Sam Allardyce, left the club unexpectedly last week after successfully keeping the club in the Premier League.
Palace will be looking to get a new boss employed as soon as possible so that they can prepare their own squad before pre-season begins. However, chairman Steve Parish is happy to take his time over the matter to assure that the right man for the job is hired.
If Crystal Palace do decide to hire Roy Hodgson, it would be the fifth Premier League club that he has taken charge of following spells in charge of Liverpool, Fulham, West Brom and Blackburn Rovers.
