Chris Smalling linked with Everton move
Chris Smalling is a surprise target for Everton in the transfer window, with the England defender reportedly wanted in a £15m deal. Recent arrivals at Old Trafford could mean that Smalling will slip even further down the pecking order at current club Man Utd.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has recently brought in centre back Victor Lindelhof as a partner for first choice defender Eric Bailly; leaving Smalling apparently on his way out of United.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman is believed to be a huge fan of Smalling and is ready to spend even more money to secure the England international's coveted signature. The Toffees have already signed Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen and are now set to wrap up their transfer spending early with a move for Smalling.
However, it is understood that there are many teams interested in Smalling, with Arsenal known to be long-term admirers of the centre back. Man Utd however will only sell to a non-rival club and Mourinho favours a move to Everton for Smalling.
