Liverpool favourites to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer

Liverpool could reportedly take advantage of Arsenal's tight wage structure in order to pursue the services of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The north London club are compelled to sell some of their first-team players this summer as they look to lower their wage budget ahead of their summer spending.

According to The Independent, the FA Cup holders must have an increase of not more than £7m in wages in wages in comparison to the previous campaign under the new Premier League cost measures.

Arsenal are planning to offer bumper contracts to Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, and this could break the wage limit by a fair margin unless they offload a few players.

The club can utilise the transfer fee gained from potential exits to adjust their wage structure, and this appears to have alerted the Reds.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud are some of the notable faces, who could be packing their bags this summer, and Klopp has set his sights on signing The Ox, who is most vulnerable to the situation.

The Ox has just 12 months left on his current contract, and it is suggested that the Gunners could cash in on a signature for a £25m sum this summer.

Klopp is currently on the search for an effective central midfielder, and Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the perfect fit following his impressive progress in north London last season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed his best spell at the Emirates during the previous campaign as he bagged six goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
