Theo Walcott to West Ham United?

Walcott linked with Gunners exit

West Ham United have emerged as potential contenders to sign Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, who is fearful of his international prospects next season.

The England international managed 19 goals for the Gunners last season but ended the season on the bench with Arsene Wenger opting for a change in formation.

It has become a sort of a trend with Walcott, who appears to make a blistering start to his Gunners season, only to find himself out of favour between March and the end of season.

As a result, his England hopes have been hampered with manager Gareth Southgate reluctant to call up a player, who is not assured of a regular spot at club level.

According to The Mirror, the Hammers are prepared to end Walcott's 11-year association at Arsenal with a £25m offer on the cards this summer.

The FA Cup holders are due to release some of their first-team players in order to comply with the new cost control measures and this could eventually see the sale of Walcott.

Bilic has already highlighted his intention to add more pace to his frontline, and Walcott could earn himself a centre-forward role - a position he has always craved for at Arsenal.

Apart from Walcott, the likes of Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could also be cashed-in in order to offer lucrative deals to Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
