Arsenal to let Chamakh leave?

01 August 2011 - 03:24

There were reports emanating from Italy that Roma may make a bid for Marouane Chamakh. The forward has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger is reportedly ready to let the player leave the club on a 7m GBP deal.

  • Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs PSG, Havertz starts in eight changes
  • Xabi Alonso makes Nicolas Jackson transfer decision
  • However, that departure depends solely on the exit of Danish international striker Nicklas Bendtner, who is expected to quit the club and head for the Bundesliga shortly.

Chamakh was signed on a free transfer from Bordeaux last year, but failed to impress in his first season at the Emirates despite bagging 7 goals.

Arsenal have already signed Gervinho who is considered as a forward by the Gunners, and are planning to use their new star up front with Robin van Persie.

That sees Chamakh seemingly surplus to requirements and heading for the busy Arsenal exit door.
