Preview: Blackburn vs. Tottenham

Preview: Blackburn vs. Tottenham

23 October 2011 - 07:46

Whilst Blackburn fans scream for Steve Kean's resignation from the terraces; this week Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp offered support for his counterpart. Redknapp realistically must know a Spurs win could mean the end of the road for Kean. Defeat would see Rovers rooted to the very bottom of the table.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • The one bright spark in a so far miserable season for Blackburn, the victory over Arsenal last month. Since then, everything has turned pear shaped. Rovers are equal bottom with fellow strugglers Wigan on five points.

    SQUADS

Blackburn are missing Spanish right back Michel Salgado. Tottenham miss William Gallas, Vedran Corluka, Michael Dawson and Ledley King.

    FORM

Meanwhile, Tottenham are making progress. Slowly but surely at least. Spurs only just missed out on a 5th successive league victory last week, as Newcastle grabbed a late leveller.

The form between the two sides could not be any different.

It's been defensive calamity for Blackburn so far, who have conceded 18 goals, whilst Tottenham have their three main scorers Rafael van der Vaart, Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor all available for action today.

From the outset, it looks like this game is going to have some goals and will be one to watch for the neutral.

    PREDICTION

    Blackburn 2-3 Tottenham

    FIRST GOALSCORER

    Rafael van der Vaart
