Man Utd rule out early Vidic return

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson ruled out a shock return to action for Serbian centre back Nemanja Vidic. Instead, Ferguson has targeted a return to action for him during pre-season in the summer.

Vidic severely damaged his knee during the Champions League defeat to Basel earlier in the season.<br />

But Ferguson ruled out an early return for Vidic: &ldquo;He&rsquo;s on schedule but it&rsquo;s for the beginning of next season. There&rsquo;s no point trying to rush him for the end of the season.<br />

&ldquo;As for the summer tour, I&rsquo;m not sure; it could well become a target for him.&rdquo;
