Tottenham track German starlet Kevin Volland

15 June 2013 - 09:40

Tottenham's extensive scouting network have been busy checking up on German forward Kevin Volland in recent months. The Hoffenheim striker has impressed since his recent progression to the German team's starting eleven.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The 20-year-old progressed through Hoffenheim's youth ranks to establish himself as an important member of the first team last year.

The German youth international has 10 caps for the under 21 side to his name, with 3 goals.

Last season would be his breakthrough year, as he played a part in 30 games for the Bundesliga team.

Tottenham's reported interest comes at a time when there remains uncertainty about the long term future of striker Jermain Defoe. Meanwhile, Spurs fans are frustrated with Emmanuel Adebayor and manager Andre Villas-Boas has told the Togan that he must improve and work hard over the summer to guarantee his Spurs future.

At this stage, no offer has been made for Volland but Hoffenheim would command a transfer fee in excess of 8 million Euros to part with the player.
