Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons has been linked with a move to Napoli. The talented star has been monitored by Arsene Wenger for over 6 months.

 • According to Italian news source Tuttosport, Napoli are looking to beat the Gunners to the signing of Lyon’s talented defensive midfielder Maxime Gonalons.
The 24 year old has been an excellent performer for the French Ligue 1 side and has been linked with Arsenal since last summer as a possible replacement for Alexander Song in Arsenal’s midfield which still lacks a natural defensive player.
The likes of Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey have been occupying the defensive positions for the Gunners but have lacked the perfect defensive organiser. They have also been linked with the likes of Mohamed Diame and Etienne Capoue.
However, Wenger may have to act fast if he is to sign Maxime Gonalons, as Napoli are stepping up their interest in the Frenchman, with new manager Rafael Benitez indeed very keen to stranthen his midfield this summer.
The likes of Javier Mascherano from Barcelona and Lucas Leiva of Liverpool have also been linked with Napoli, but Gonalons looks the perfect fit for the Serie A side.
