Tottenham Target Jackson Martinez

22 June 2013 - 19:16

Colombian striker Jackson Martinez has admitted his uncertainty over his future at his present club FC Porto, of the Primeira League. It has been reported that the Tottenham striker target is not sure about his long term future.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Porto forward has had a remarkable season in European football, netting 34 goals in 39 appearances for the club, hence drawing interest from several big European clubs.

Spurs are reportedly leading the race for the 26-year-old as they look to strengthen their attacking division before the new season begins. Tottenham are concerned about their forwards as Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe have struggled with their form lately and Gareth Bale could possibly depart to Real Madrid, this summer.

The Andre Villas-Boas led side have also been targeting players like David Villa and Leandro Damiao, although the Spurs haven’t finalized these deals. Martinez has already admitted that he would be tempted by an offer away from Porto, this summer.

“We have to talk a lot about my future”

He added, “Right now, there is nothing concrete but yes, there are some options to leave this summer. I will contact Porto and then wait and see what might happen.”

Other seekers of the star player are Liverpool and Borussia Dotmund. Both the clubs may face exits of their most in-demand strikers, Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski respectively.
