Arsenal monitoring Edin Dzeko

Arsenal monitoring Edin Dzeko

03 July 2013 - 05:55

The Gunners have set their sights on Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko as Arsene Wenger is very keen to bring in a a couple of new faces this summer.Reports also suggest that the manager is keen to bring in players with Premier League experience.

 • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
 • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
 • Arsenal who have already been linked with interest in veteran midfielder Gareth Barry and adaptable defender Micah Richards are now keeping a look on Bosnian international Edin Dzeko who would be regarded as a potential back-up option should Arsenal’s pursuit of Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain collapse.
A number of sources claim that 25-year-old England International Richards is holding out on signing a new Etihad Stadium contract, as he is not a guaranteed starter in the first-team which would become more limited by the arrival of new boss Manuel Pellegrini, who may well look to bring defensive options as part of the club’s summer spending spree having already spent £40m on the pair of Jesus Navas and Fernandinho.
A move to bring in Edin Dzeko is perhaps the most likely given the Gunners continous push to strengthen their attack front. The former Wolfsburg struggled for a first team spot under Mancini but still scored regularly, summing up 30 goals in 77 Premier League appearances of which 37 were from the bench.
