Barcelona midfielder, Thiago Alcantara has been strongly linked with a move to the Old Trafford and the Spanish giants have asked the player to clear his decision within the next few days. The Catalans have reportedly drawn up a list of potential candidates to replace Thiago, should he leave the club.
The 22-year-old Spaniard has been reported to kindle United’s interest in him who are intent on signing him for a cut –price of €18m. Moyes has made Thiago a top transfer target this summer. Thiago is not convinced by the playing minutes he would be given at the Camp Nou. Tito Vilanova has already made it clear that Xavi would not be benched for the youngster.
In a more likely situation of Thiago leaving the club, Barcelona will run through the list of replacements for him, says Mundo Deportivo.
It is understood that the La Liga champions will promote Sergi Roberto up the pecking order with an increased role in the first-team. It is also believed that Barcelona could make a move for Ajax’s Christian Eriksen, Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera, Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, Chelsea’s Juan Mata or Borja Valero of Fiorentina.
