  • The game endured a goalles first half with a penalty appeal turned down for the hosts, and a freekick by Peter Whittingham which was wide of the goal. Bosnian Edin Dzeko openned the scoring on 52 minutes with a powerful strike only to be levelled by Aron Gunnarsson 8 minutes later after he pounced on a rebound from a saved Campbell effort, becoming the first Cardiff City player to score for his club since their promotion.

Campbell made it two for the hosts when he scored a Whittingham corner as Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta stood still. He added his second of the and his side's third also from a corner.

Alvaro Negredo pulled one back in the final minute of the game to make it 3-2.
