Arsenal have suffered a huge blow this afternoon after the Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Lukas Podolski would be out of action for at least 8 weeks. The German international suffered a hamstring injury this week in the Champions League game against Fenerbahce.
The Gunners will now miss the striker for at least 10 weeks and will now rely on summer signing Yaya Sanogo to back up Olivier Giroud, who has so far led the line for Arsenal this season.
Wenger said of Podolski's injury: "His hamstring is much more damaged than we thought at the start.
"It is very disappointing and we have paid a very heavy price."
