Liverpool transfer target Diego Costa has no plans to quit his current club Atletico Madrid. The Anfield club were reportedly in the race for the striker's signature but pulled out of a deal after being quoted 32 million Euros.
The talented striker has attracted many of Europe's top teams, but Liverpool had hoped to sign Costa as a replacement for Luis Suarez who had been linked with a transfer away from Anfield.
"I had options to leave Atletico Madrid," said Costa. "I was very close to leaving – Liverpool is a great team. But after so much fighting and overcoming so many difficulties to win my place at Atletico, I couldn’t go.
"I will stay at Atletico. I think it is important for me to continue growing here and playing here for many years to come."
