Preview: Spurs vs Wigan

11 November 2007 - 10:22

When Juande Ramos joined, he would've looked at the fixture list and seen three points as an absolute certainty against Wigan. Managerless Wigan will play an unchanged side, as two of the Premiership's bottom sides go head to head, desperate for points.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Ledley King (knee), Ricardo Rocha (ankle), Anthony Gardner (ankle), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Gareth Bale (foot) are all out. Heskey is back in training but will not be called upon for this game.

    Dawson: working hard

"We are working hard with the new coaching staff, they are still looking at us and it is a case of putting in performances.

"It is winning matches that counts and we need to climb up that table.

"It is not a nice position to be in and we need to get out of it as quickly. Three points on Sunday would be great."

    Melchiot: we're down

"We have had two knock-downs - the first is that we have not been winning games, and the other knock-down is for our manager, Chris Hutchings, to be gone.

"This is exactly when we have really got to be self-firing.

"The last thing Chris said to us was 'you are good professionals, do not disappoint yourselves'."

    Eyefootball Premiership Predictor

    Tottenham 3-0 Wigan

It's going to be a walkover for Spurs as they pick up an easy three points at the Lane to kick-start their campaign - 12 games in.
