Arsenal star Theo Walcott out of action for a month

06 January 2014 - 11:10

Arsenal striker Theo Walcott has been ruled out of action for a week after a scan confirmed that his knee injury sustained against Tottenham in the FA Cup at the weekend is more serious than first thought.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • The injury to Walcott is sure to make a huge difference to Arsene Wenger's January transfer window plans, as the Gunners manager now has to make a bold decision on whether or not to sign a striker on loan for the remainder of the season or bring in a new striker on a permanent deal.<br />

With Olivier Giroud set to return to the first team from sickness and Lukas Podolski also fully recovered from injury, the Gunners are not that short in attacking options. Serge Gnabry's impressive performance against Spurs will also provide a selection headache for Arsenal's manager, who will now continue his domestic charge for the FA Cup and Premier League title.
