Chelsea have now switched their focus to other targets following news that Atletico Madrid are willing to keep Diego Costa for atleast another season.
The Blues were expected to secure the services of Diego Costa at the end of the season, with many sources claiming that the deal was close to completion.
However, this does not look the case, as the Basque club are ready to keep hold of the Brazilian-born Spain international for another year.
Reports reveal that the Blues boss Jose Mourinho, is keen on a major shake-up in the attacking department, and will make a move to land the signature of French prolific striker Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer.
However, the deal could be based on whether Los Blancos sign one of their top transfer targets in Luis Suarez or Sergio Aguero in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the French international.
