Stefan de Vrij to join Lazio?

Manchester United transfer target Stefan de Vrij has reportedly arrived in Rome to undergo a medical and complete his switch from Feyenoord to Lazio. The Italian club confirmed yesterday that they have reached an agreement with Feyenoord over the Dutch defender.

The fee is reported to be €8.5 million and De Vrij has agreed to sign a five-year contract with the club subject to him passing the medical.



Louis van Gaal was keen to bring his compatriot to Old Trafford this summer, but it seems that the defender has chosen Lazio over his World Cup coach's led side.

Despite being 22-year-old, De Vrij was a regular in Netherlands' national team that finished third in the World Cup this summer.  

De Vrij made 154 appearances for Feyenoord and has already earned 19 international caps for the Netherlands.
