Liverpool are apparently ready to make a bid of around £16m for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, as per The Express.
The Reds have been in the search for a new striker following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona earlier this summer.
A report from the Express suggests that Nerazzurri are open to the sale of Icardi, should any club make an offer of around £28m.
The report adds that the Reds are willing to offer just £16m for the 21-year-old, and would have to increase the fee before any talks occur on the prospective deal.
Earlier, Liverpool had been linked with a move for Radamel Falcao, but Monaco's sporting director Vadim Vasilyev later dismissed the speculation.
