Spurs offered former Valencia midfielder

08 September 2014 - 13:33

Tottenham Hotspur have been reportedly offered the opportunity to sign free-agent Jonas, according to The Mail.

  • Man Utd handed major injury boost for Liverpool game
  • Chelsea set asking price for Nicolas Jackson
  • The 30-year-old was released by Valencia last season and had been linked with the likes of Sunderland and Benfica during the recently concluded transfer window.

According to The Mail, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is considering making a move for the talented forward, as he aims to provide sufficient back-up to the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado in the attacking department.

However, it is believed that Jonas prefers a switch to Benfica as he is likely to earn more game-time.

Jonas scored 10 goals in 40 games for Valencia last season.
