Arsenal eye swoop for defensive duo

17 September 2014 - 23:44

Arsenal are reportedly considering making a move for free-agents Diego Lugano and Joseph Yobo, according to The Mail.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be considering a double swoop to provide sufficient back-up to the likes of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny in the central defensive role.

French international Mathieu Debuchy recently suffered an ankle injury, and this has meant that fellow summer signing Calum Chambers is likely to fill his role at right-back, thus leaving a void in central defence.

The Mail reports the Gunners will move for Lugano and Yobo, given their Premier League experience.

Arsenal visit Aston Villa in their next Premier League clash this weekend.
