Man City boss plays down Wilfried Bony link

Pellegrini to play the waiting game

Man City boss plays down Wilfried Bony link

01 January 2015 - 05:49

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that the club are not in need of a new striker in the New Year.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Wilfried Bony has been one of the stars in the Premier League since his switch to Swansea from Vitesse Arnhem in the summer of 2013.

Recent reports claimed that the Ivory Coast international could be the subject of a bid from the Citizens in the winter transfer window, with the likes of Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic all out through injury.

However, Pellegrini has dismissed the speculation by saying that he is not worried by the club's lack of strength in the forward-line.

“I don’t think we are going to be too busy in this window." He said. “We have the option to do it – we will see in the whole month of January what we are going to do about that – but it is not a major concern.”

City are currently second in the Premier League, three points behind leaders Chelsea.
