French defender and Saint-Etienne skipper Loic Perrin has claimed that Arsenal have spoken to him over a potential switch during the winter transfer window.
The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to be keen on signing a new central defender in the New Year, with Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny being the only reliable options at the club.
Perrin revealed to Maxifoot that the North London outfit contacted him regarding the transfer, but have yet to agree a deal with his parent club.
"I was contacted personally. Arsenal are interested," He said. "But for now, there is still no contact with Saint-Etienne."
