Arsenal still chasing central defender

12 January 2015 - 00:16

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that he is still in the market for a centre back after yet another injury to one of his defender's yesterday. Mathieu Debuchy dislocated his shoulder in the 3-0 victory over Stoke City.

  • The Gunners have been linked with a move for Winston Reid for much of the season and Arsenal are now expected to make an official bid for the West Ham star.

Arsene Wenger admits he is concerned that his squad is a bit short of centre backs: "Nacho Monreal and Debuchy can play centre-back, but if Kieran Gibbs is not here Monreal cannot play centre back and if Debuchy is not here he cannot play centre-back. This is a position where we are short."
