Aston Villa have reportedly make a formal approach for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert, according to The Mail.
The Villans boss Paul Lambert is understood to be keen on signing a new striker having seen the club go over 10 hours of league football without a goal.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has earlier revealed that the club are unlikely to sell off any of their players on transfer deadline day.
However, The Mail claims that the Villans have made a last ditch attempt in order to bring the England international to Villa Park.
Villa were thrashed at Arsenal by a 5-0 scoreline in the Premier League on Sunday.
