Australian midfield star Tim Cahill has joined Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua on a free transfer.
The former Everton star left the New York Red Bulls earlier on transfer deadline day by mutual consent, and reports claimed that the veteran midfielder could make a shock return to the Premier League.
However, the 35-year-old has now confirmed that he has chosen to join the Chinese Super League with Shanghai Shenhua.
Shanghai Shenhua are known for the signing of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in 2012.
