Spanish defender Hector Bellerin has been rewarded with a new long-term contract at Arsenal, having impressed during the previous campaign.
The 20-year-old broke into the first-team last season, following an injury to first-choice right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
Bellerin started off slowly in the first-half of the season, but developed into a established defender as the season came to a close.
Manager Arsene Wenger has however suggested that the young defender would have to keep up with his performances, should he have to compete with Debuchy for the right-back role.
"I expect him to confirm all the good aspects of his game that he has shown, and to accept that he has a tough challenge with Mathieu Debuchy," he told the club's official website.
"Mathieu is a guy who has always shown unbelievable mental strength and has top quality. He's a regular player in the French national team so Hector cannot rest. He has a big battle to face."
