AS Roma plan audacious bid for Chelsea star

16 August 2015 - 05:25

Italian giants AS Roma are planning a mega bid for one of Chelsea's best defenders.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • The Serie A outfit have already allowed the likes of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Alessio Romagnoli exit the club in recent days, and are now on the search for a new centre-back.

Reports in Italy cites that Roma will look to make a bid of around £25million for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, after they failed with a loan offer for Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho.

However, it is highly unlikely that Jose Mourinho will let go of the 20-year-old, given the lack of depth in the defensive setup.

Zouma is currently the only reliable back-up to John Terry and Gary Cahill in the heart of the defence.
