Chelsea are in the driving seat to sign Alvaro Morata in this summer's transfer window. The Blues have tabled an opening bid for the Real Madrid striker.
The Spaniard recently returned to the Bernabeu after Los Blancos activated the £23.4m buy-back option that was placed during his sale to Juventus in 2014.
Real have always had the idea of reselling their graduate for a decent profit, and according to Spanish source Don Balon, they have received an offer worth £41.7m from the Blues.
London rivals Arsenal have been linked with the talented marksman in recent weeks, but for now Antonio Conte's side are heading the queue having lodged a concrete offer for his services.
Conte was incharge of the Old Lady when Morata first arrived two years ago, but the prospect of coaching Italy lured the former away from the Turin outfit.
The Blues have already finalized an agreement with Marseille for Michy Batshuayi, and it could be a matter of time before Morata heads to Stamford Bridge.
Should things go as planned, fellow Spaniard Diego Costa could be permitted to fulfill his desire of rejoining Atletico Madrid.
Morata had a tough campaign with Juventus last term as he played second fiddle to Paulo Dybala for the role upfront.
