Crystal Palace have shifted their focus to Liverpool striker Christian Benteke after they failed in their attempts to land fellow Belgian Michy Batshuayi.
The Eagles had an offer of around £31m accepted for Batshuayi earlier this week only to see Chelsea scupper the deal with a £33m sum.
According to BBC Sport, Palace have tabled a £25m bid for Benteke with manager Alan Pardew desperate to bring in a marquee signing ahead of their Premier League challenge next season.
The Reds are currently in a fix over the transfer approach, and a decision is likely to be in the coming days.
Benteke largely struggled to make an impact following his move from Aston Villa last summer, and this has raised doubts over his future at Anfield.
The 25-year-old was restricted to just 15 league starts for the Merseyside giants last term.
Palace are on the search for striking options with Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh having been released, whilst Dwight Gayle was allowed to join Newcastle United.
