Arsenal are lining up a potential offer for highly-rated German defender Matthias Ginter. The 22-year-old is currently plying his trade at Borussia Dortmund.
Ginter was previously a transfer target for the Gunners in 2014 before he opted to join BVB from Freiburg.
According to The Sun, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in a couple of versatile additions to his backline ahead of the new campaign.
Ginter's play has been often compared to fellow countrymate Per Mertesacker, and he could be the ideal prospect for the North London outfit in years to come.
Nevertheless, the Gunners will some convincing to do with BVB having already lost the likes of Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the transfer window.
The youngster is capable of featuring at right-back or in the central defensive position. He was also part of the German squad that went on to win the World Cup finals in Brazil two years ago.
