Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal for Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro, signing the French forward for a fee of 32 million euros. Arsenal made a last minute bid for the striker yesterday evening.
Gameiro has joined Diego Simeone's side today and signed a four year contract with the La Liga giants. Gameiro scored 32 goals in 92 games for Sevilla and is desperate to force his way into France's international side. The player has only managed to earn 8 caps for his country and is hopeful a link up with Antoine Griezmann at Atleti will improve his international hopes.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made a last minute bid for the former Sevilla man last night but the club had already agreed a fee with Atletico thus were forced to reject the Gunners' offer.
The 29-year-old striker will link up with his new team mates next week.
