Javier Pastore on Chelsea radar

Conte wants Pastore at Stamford Bridge

Javier Pastore on Chelsea radar

29 September 2016 - 08:22

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will look to add more creativity to his midfield this winter with a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Javier Pastore. The Argentine has had a series of disruptive injuries over the past year, and this has reduced his playing time with the first-team.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Pastore, 27, has got back into the mix under Unai Emery this season, but he still remains a back-up player with the likes of Angel di Maria, Blaise Matuidi and Lucas Moura favoured ahead of him in the starting line-up.

According to TMW, the Blues coach is keen on recruiting an attacking midfielder to his ranks and considers Pastore as one among his prime targets when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Eden Hazard was expected to come on a high after his Euro 2016 exploits with Belgium, but he has so far struggled and this has affected the Blues' progress in recent weeks.

Antonio Conte's side are currently in a run of three league games without a win, and find themselves eighth in the standings.
