Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will reportedly hold end-of-season talks with Marcos Rojo over a potential contract extension.

  • The Argentina international has turned out to be a key performer for United this campaign despite being a fringe player at the start of the season.

Rojo was widely tipped to leave Old Trafford during the previous summer transfer window, but unfortunately, United did not receive the correct offer to let go of his services.

The Argentine has since taken his opportunity with both hands, having formed an excellent bond alongside Phil Jones in central defence which has maintained their 18-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

According to The Sun, Mourinho will seek to thrash out a fresh contract to Rojo in the summer despite talks over bring a couple of new recruits to his squad.

Rojo's current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2019, and the club will seek to offer him an extended contract due to his versatility to also feature at left-back.

Manchester United were alleged to have finalized a deal for Benfica's Victor Lindelof during the winter period but the impressive form of Jones and Rojo convinced Mourinho to pull the plug on the deal.
