Pep Guardiola to end Jack Wilshere interest

Wilshere to Man City unlikely to happen

Pep Guardiola to end Jack Wilshere interest

26 March 2017 - 06:03

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola could end the club's interest in midfielder Jack Wilshere amid concerns over his fitness on the pitch.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The England international is currently in the ranks of Bournemouth for whom he joined on a season-long loan from Arsenal in the summer.

Wilshere has recently found himself as a regular from the substitutes' bench with manager Eddie Howe in favour of a two-man strike force involving Benik Afobe and Josh King.

City scouts had been keeping a close watch on the £90,000-a-week during the first half of the season with Guardiola deemed to be interested in a summer approach for the midfielder.

However, The Express insists that the Catalan tactician will drop his pursuit ahead of the summer transfer window as there are still concerns over the player's regularity on the field.

Wilshere ironically sustained a minor ankle problem during Bournemouth's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City, and this appears to have not gone well with Pep, who expected the 25-year-old to leave an impression through his performance.

The attacker currently has just a year left on his Arsenal deal, and it is understood that he could push for a move to Italy with Arsene Wenger likely to remain at the helm next season.
