Chelsea striker a loan target for West Ham

Hammers to return with fresh attempt for Batshuayi

Chelsea striker a loan target for West Ham

30 April 2017 - 06:12

West Ham United will reportedly tempt Chelsea to loan out Michy Batshuayi following his struggles to attain regular playing time at Stamford Bridge this season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Belgium international snubbed advances from the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace in order to realise his move to the west London giants in the summer.

However, he has since barely featured for Antonio Conte's side after having failed to make a single start over the course of the campaign.

Batshuayi is likely to attain a similar role with the Blues next term, and according to The Express, the Hammers will seek to lure the player on a season-long loan.

The former Marseille man would have hoped to become the leading striker for the Premier League leaders, but unfortunately, he has not managed to displace Diego Costa from the centre-forward role.

Meanwhile, his situation could get worse in the summer with Chelsea hot on the trail of Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata, who is being seen as a potential replacement for Costa

Batshuayi has managed 17 substitute appearances in the top flight this season - bagging a solitary goal and assist.
