Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly earmarked Monaco's Thomas Lemar as his prime target ahead of the summer transfer window.
The former Caen man has been in sublime touch for the Principality outfit, who are on the cusp of lifting the French Ligue 1 title.
Lemar has provided 12 goals and 11 assists over the course of the season, and he is now a regular in the centre of the park under Leonardo Jardim.
According to The Mirror, Lemar is among the top names on Wenger's shortlist for the summer as he plans to rebuild on his current squad.
Both Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey have impressed since the switch to the 3-4-2-1 formation, but Wenger nevertheless interested in his compatriot, who is well versed with his set-piece taking abilities.
Lemar is not the only Monaco player on the Gunners radar with a certain Kylian Mbappe also propping up the shortlist prior to the summer transfer window.
Wenger had previously been offered the chance to sign Lemar, whilst at former club Caen, but he was not willing to take a risk with the young prospect.
Arsenal are currently three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City following their 2-0 win over Southampton on Wednesday night.
Regardless of the Gunners position in Europe, it is suggested that Wenger will be offered a fresh contract extension beyond the summer.
