Tottenham ready to sell Kyle Walker

21 May 2017 - 05:10

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to cut their ties with Kyle Walker this summer, should any club match his £40m valuation.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip

  • The England international has been at odds at the north London club in recent months with Mauricio Pochettino opting to reward Kieran Trippier with a regular role at right wing-back.

As a result, the 26-year-old appears to be frustrated with his Spurs stay despite signing a five-year contract earlier in the season.

According to The Express, Spurs are willing to end their long-term association with Walker with Chelsea and Manchester City plotting individual bids for his signature.

The Blues have utilised Victor Moses as the right wing-back for much of the season, and Antonio Conte is now keen on recruiting a specialist who could provide more competition for places.

Meanwhile, the Citizens will be without a recognised right-back with the contracts of Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna due to expire in the summer and Guardiola will no doubt want to add a couple of quality reinforcements.

Spurs are known to play hefty price tags on their key performers over the years, and Walker will not come on the cheap with the club due to demand a £40m sum at the least for his sale.

Walker has appeared in over 225 outings for Tottenham Hotspur since making his Premier League debut in the 2009-10 season.
